Presentation Best Practice

We understand many of you are seasoned speakers, but here are some helpful tips that you could keep in mind when planning and delivering your presentation:

Avoid ‘Death by PowerPoint’

  • Keep slides as a visual aid, not the main focus.  Attendees come to hear what you have to say.

Keep slides simple

  • Avoid overcrowding slides with too much text. If you have data, statistics and detailed information to share, supply a supporting PDF that we can make available to attendees after the event.

Be original

  • Slides aren’t the only way to communicate what you have to say. Use props and other visual aids to bring your presentation to life! Let us know if you are planning anything special so we can help facilitate your requirements if necessary.

Stick to the abstract

  • Talk about what you said you would!

Define your top three takeaways

  • As you develop your talk, think of the top three key points that you want people to take away with them.  Make sure that you clearly deliver these points.

Be unforgettable!

  • Stand out by sharing fresh insights or perspectives on your chosen subject.  Are you succeeding in saying anything different now to what was said a year ago, or will be said a year later?

We look forward to your impactful and engaging presentation!
